Coffee Pudding

This Coffee Pudding taste just like when you combine your favorite drink with a sweet treat but all at once. It's equally delicious as a simple afternoon treat or an impressive dinner party dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons Javy Coffee Concentrate
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 2 egg yolks room temperature
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Chocolate shavings (optional)‍

Directions

  1. Combine 2 tablespoons of Javy Coffee Concentrate into 1/2 cup of water to make the coffee
  2. Feel free to add more Javy Coffee for a stronger coffee taste

  4. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, coffee, and cream
  5. Slowly bring to a simmer
  6. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, and cornstarch until blended
  7. Ladle some of the hot milk mixture over the eggs and whisk immediately
  8. While continuing to whisk pour in the rest of the hot milk into the eggs

  10. Return the custard mixture back into your saucepan and place back over medium/low heat
  11. Whisk the custard constantly for roughly 6-8 minutes or until it has thickened
  12. Do not let this mixture boil or it can curdle
  13. Once thickened, remove from the heat and whisk in the butter, 1/2 teaspoon of Javy Coffee Concentrate, and salt
  14. Taste and if needed add a little more Javy coffee for an even stronger flavor
  15. The last step is to pass the custard through a sieve to yield you a silky smooth pudding and remove any lumps (please don't skip this step)
  16. Serve the pudding cold with whipped cream and shaved chocolate on top
  17. Store the pudding in the fridge for up to 4 days
