Overnight Iced Coffee

Ever tried using chicory in your coffee? New Orleans has been known for adding chicory to their coffee for a long time. It’s been used as a substitute for real coffee, or as an additive to bolster the flavor of weak coffee. This overnight recipe will add the perfect twist to your daily coffee.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 tsp of Javy Coffee Concentrate
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 tablespoon chicory
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon chicory
  • 1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
  • ice, for serving

Directions

  1. Pour Javy Coffee Concentrate to a Jar, add 1 tablespoon chicory, 1 cinnamon stick, and water. Screw on the lid tightly and give the jar a few vigorous shakes.
  2. Transfer to the refrigerator and let steep for at least 12 hours, preferably overnight.When ready to serve, discard the cinnamon stick and chicory pieces.
  3. Divide the coffee concentrate evenly between two-pint glasses, and add 6 oz of whole milk and 1 tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk between the two glasses, giving each a good stir with a long spoon.
  4. Serve with ice and enjoy immediately!
