Vegan Coffee Panna Cotta

Vegan Coffee Panna Cotta

Inspired by the iconic Italian dessert, this vegan makeover highlights the bitterness, sweetness, saltiness, and sourness of coffee flavor without sacrificing the smooth and creamy texture you look for in traditional panna cotta. The secret? Agar-agar! Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, and Vegan.

Ingredients

  • 1-2 Javy Coffee Concentrate (You can use our French Vanilla flavor for extra taste)
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 3/4 tsp Agar-Agar Powder (VEGETARIAN SUBSTITUTE FOR GELATIN)
  • 1 full-fat coconut milk
  • Coconut whipped cream
  • Dash of cinnamon powder

Directions

  1. Start by dissolving the agar-agar in 1 tbsp of water. Then, into a medium pot, add coconut milk and sugar over medium-high heat. Once the mixture is boiling, add in agar-agar and whisk to combine. Add in Javy Coffee Concentrate, then stir for 2-3 minutes. You can use 1 to 2 teaspoons of Javy depending on how strong you want the coffee to taste.
  2. Pour the coffee mixture into dessert cups (you may fill more if you use smaller-sized cups). Chill in the fridge for at least 45 minutes, or until set.
  3. Once both layers are set and cool, remove panna cotta from the fridge and garnish with coconut whipped cream and cinnamon powder. Serve immediately. ENJOY!
