Protein Tiramisu French Toast

This Tiramisu French Toast is an indulgent breakfast creation that will delight your taste buds. Rich protein coffee-soaked bread layered with a creamy cream cheese filling and dusted with cocoa powder, making every bite a delicious experience reminiscent of the famous Italian dessert.

Ingredients

French Toast

  • 8 oz milk of choice
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground flaxseed
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1-2 scoops Instant Protein Coffee
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 6-8 slices of bread
  • 2-3 tablespoons butter or oil of choice
  • Cocoa powder, for topping

Cream cheese mixture

  • 6 tablespoon cream cheese or mascarpone
  • 6 tablespoons plain or vanilla yogur
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. In a shallow bowl, wide enough to hold a piece of bread, whisk together milk, cornstarch, ground flaxseed, baking powder, Javy Coffee Concentrate, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt. Heat a bit of butter in a pan over medium heat and melt. Whisk the batter again right before dipping the bread, as the cornstarch will settle to the bottom of the bowl.
  2. Dip each side of the bread in the batter and let soak for about 10 seconds, then add the bread to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown. Add more butter or oil to the pan as needed in between pieces of bread. Stir together the ingredients for the cream cheese mixture.
  3. Layer the French toast with the cream cheese mixture and top with a dusting of cocoa powder. Can also serve with maple syrup or fresh fruit.
